Calpe is a municipality in the Spanish province of Alicante in the Valencia region, with an area of ​​24 km². Calpe is located on the Costa Blanca and has 19,591 inhabitants. Calpe is characterized by the 332-meter-high rock El Peñon de Ifach, which juts out into the sea and is visible from kilometers away. The rock is part of a small bird sanctuary.
